Exp2 Week3

Textures used:

Light-tone:
The texture was chosen with the quote by Zaha Hadid “There are 360 degrees, why stick to one?” in mind. This texture showcases warped lines which diverge and converge at different areas. It represents Zaha's fluid style that contrasts to fixed and symmetrical lines. As a result, it has been applied to curved and organic structures.
Mid-tone:
This texture was applied on the cross-shaped elevator due to the cross shape. This mid-tone texture was applied to the elevator because of its wood grain characteristics which contrasts against the metallic and glass structure. The intention was to showcase Herzog de Meuron's concept of using materials in an unconventional manner to create innovative facades.

Dark-tone:
Just like the mid-tone texture, this texture has been selected to highlight Herzog de Meuron's style. In addition to adhering to the concept of using materials unconventionally, the texture also emphasise stacked geometric forms.
